What is Love?

Love can unite two individuals. They may have different career, valuation, political view, opinion, background, etc. The pair becomes a dynamic unit where their personalities join, mix, discuss and complement each other.

The strong love bounds establish in the childhood, between parents and children, and between brothers and sisters. The first three years are of the most significant to our love life in adulthood. The strong bounds resist everything, for example, a parent keep on loving his child even if the child has a serious disfiguring disease. The only power that can establish strong bound, besides the family bound, is being in love. Two persons, who once were strangers to each other, are suddenly equally important to each other, like a child to his parent.

The medium-strong bounds are between friends. But even the strongest friendship is vulnerable - one hard quarrel and the friendship risk to end.

The weak bounds are between neighbors and colleagues. Many erotic affairs belong to this category. It could take only a few harsh words and the company risk to break. A weak bound means we don't feel a strong need to be with that person. We, however, might remember the person for the rest of our lives.

We can fall in love several times in our life, but we stay mostly with one love. Some people say they fall in love all the time but they probably mix up love with attraction. Falling in love is deeper then that – you don’t want to replace the one you fall in love with!

In our mind we create a collection of complex qualities and feelings that we consider to be love. All those qualities and feelings lead to an “imaginary lover”. Then we try to find someone who corresponds to the picture of our " imaginary lover". It’s a perpetual process where the "true person" and the "imaginary lover" are driven closer to each other in order to merge in the end. Love is the process where we merge together the "imaginary lover" and the "true lover".??

The one we love is often a projection of our inner thoughts. Often - deep down in our subconscious - the "imaginary lover" is the memory of our first love.

Lovers feel they have a common identity - they have melted together. Every step towards nearness leads to the next, to speak with each other becomes like touching, to touch each other becomes like making love, to make love to each other becomes like melting together the souls.
